Pharmacy Remuneration and Regulation Review

The Pharmacy Remuneration and Regulation Review stems from the Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement between the Federal Government and the Pharmacy Guild, which took effect from 1 July 2015.

Under the Agreement, the Commonwealth undertook to appoint a panel to conduct a comprehensive review of remuneration for supplying government subsidised PBS medicines, and rules about the location of pharmacies.

Consultation and Submissions

Now that the Discussion Paper has been released, any interested parties are invited to submit written comments to the Panel in response to the Paper.

The Review of Pharmacy Remuneration and Regulation is also encouraging pharmacists, pharmacy staff and members of the general public to complete an online survey about attitudes to community pharmacy in Australia.

The survey will be open for responses until 30 September 2016. The Guild strongly encourages Members, pharmacy staff, patients and other supporters of pharmacy to complete the survey.

Following the public forums held around Australia, the Review Panel will host a live national webcast from Canberra on 7 September 2016 at 7:00pm AEST.

The webcast will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and consumers to join the national conversation and express their views regarding the future of pharmacy to the Review Panel through live and interactive online platforms and social media.

Member Resources

The Guild has produced a range of resources for the information of members, which will be updated throughout the review process. Members can access the resources online.
