Quit for 2 through Community Pharmacy

On 30 June 2018, the ACT Branch completed a two year program: Quit for 2 through Community Pharmacy (the Program), which was made possible through a grant received from the ACT Health Directorate Healthy Canberra Grants program.

The program aim was to promote a pharmacy-led smoking cessation program to pregnant women in the ACT, with a goal to reduce smoking rates among this population.

For more information, refer to the Evaluation of the Program.

The ACT Branch of the Pharmacy Guild would like to thank ACT Health Directorate for the opportunity to undertake the Program and the organisations who assisted us:

  • Cancer Council ACT
  • YWCA
  • Capital Health Network
  • Centre for Women’s Health Matters
  • ACT Health – Smoking in Pregnancy program

We also thank the pharmacists and pharmacy assistants of the ACT who participated in the Program, giving their enthusiasm, time and energy to support pregnant women and their partners to quit smoking.
