Blended Mental Health First Aid (BMHFA)

The BMHFA training provides pharmacy staff the relevant skills and tools needed to ensure proper care is delivered to those experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. The BMHFA course has been specifically tailored for the pharmacy environment and consists of self-paced online learning modules followed by a practical classroom-based (face-to-face or live webinar) session.

Registration is open to all NSW based pharmacy staff, and all pharmacists and pharmacy assistants are encouraged to participate.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this training course. For learners aged 16 years +, they must receive permission from their parent/guardian. A statutory declaration must be completed and submitted for the registration to be approved.

Delegates will have the choice of registering to attend either a half-day face-to-face workshop* or two (2) virtual workshops of 2.5 hours each; attendance at BOTH virtual workshops is mandatory.

Prior to attending the classroom session, delegates must complete the pre-requirements including the self-paced online learning and pre-assessment questionnaire.

To successfully complete the BMHFA training course, each learner must complete:

  • Pre and post-course evaluation
  • Self-paced online learning modules prior to attendance of (first) workshop
  • Attendance to selected workshop (face-to-face or both virtual classroom sessions).

If you do not complete any of these requirements, you will not complete the training nor receive Statement of Completion and relevant CPD credits for pharmacists.

Each class has limited places available and thus, you will not be able to change/swap classes under any circumstances so please select carefully.

Upon registering for this course, the delegate will be provided with an electronic voucher to access the online learning modules via the Mental Health First Aid Australia website not the Guild website.

Upon successful completion of the available learning module, your pharmacy will be able to identify themselves as a safe space to their community.
