Trauma

 

Traumatic experiences are common and may affect individuals directly or indirectly. Trauma Informed Care is the open mindedness and compassion needed to support people affected by trauma. Developed by Phoenix Australia Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health, Trauma Informed Care Online is a comprehensive short course providing the framework for understanding, responding and aiding recovery to people who have experienced trauma.

The training consists of self-paced Online Learning Modules followed by a mandatory life virtual classroom session. Both components of the training – online learning modules & classroom session – must be completed to successfully complete the training course. The Online Learning Modules must be completed within 6 weeks of attending the classroom session.

Registration is open to all NSW based pharmacy staff, and pharmacists and pharmacy assistants are encouraged to participate.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this training course. For learners aged 16 years +, they must receive permission from their parent/guardian. A statutory declaration must be completed and submitted for the registration to be approved.

Minimum numbers per session must be met for the webinar to be delivered; if minimum numbers are not met, the webinar will be cancelled and confirmed attendees given the opportunity to rescheduled.

Upon successful completion of the available learning module, your pharmacy will be able to identify themselves as a safe space to their community.

This activity has been accredited for 7 hours of Group 1 CPD (or 7 CPD credits) suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan, which can be converted to 7 hours of Group 2 CPD (or 14 CPD credits) upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities.
