Smart and Skilled

On October 31st 2014 the NSW Government officially announced their reform to the previous funding and incentive model for Trainees and Apprenticeships in NSW. This new model became effective as of January 1st 2015 and has been introduced to increase the ownership of the course for the student and their employer. This means that instead of a yearly admin fee of $534, there is now a one off fee that is charged up front. 


Fees for traineeships are now calculated based on several factors:

  • Qualification Level
  • Previous relevant qualifications or units completed
  • Potential Recognition of Prior Learning
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status

​Who is Eligible?

To be considered eligible for government subsides for certificate training with Pharmacy Guild Training you must be:

  • An Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand Citizen
  • Aged 15 years or older
  • No longer at school
  • Working in New South Wales
  • A New Entrant Employee, working under 12 months part time or 3 months full time

Traineeships in Community Pharmacy:
