Closing the Gap (CTG) Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Co-payment Program

The Australian Government has provided information regarding changes made to the Closing the Gap (CTG) Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Co‑payment Program that came into effect from 1 July 2021.

Guild Members should now note the advice provided by the Government for the following groups:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Community Pharmacies

Prescribers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners and Peak Bodies

PBS Online Error

Claiming CTG prescriptions is similar to other PBS claims but the patient must be registered. You can’t dispense the prescription at the CTG price unless the patient is registered.

If the patient isn’t registered, the claim will be rejected.
