More than a decade has passed since the last Member Census. The demand for health service provision alongside rising patient expectations — the changing face of pharmacy, has presented new challenges and opportunities to evolve.

The 2026 Census will:

• Provide contemporary data on the realities of community pharmacy today.
• Inform planning for remuneration, workforce development and industrial relations.
• Support long-term strategic decision-making across the sector.
• Contribute to achieving the Guild’s 2035 goals.

The Census will collect high-level information about:

• Pharmacy operations and business structure
• Services, programs and professional activities
• Workforce size, roles, capacity and training
• Dispensary activity and medicines supply
• Challenges, priorities and emerging needs across the sector

These insights will help create an accurate national picture of community pharmacy to guide future planning and representation.

Member privacy is our highest priority.

All Census data will be stored securely using up-to-date information security standards. Individual responses will not be identifiable at any stage. Only aggregated insights will be used to support Guild advocacy, planning and reporting.
