Community pharmacy has an essential role to play in ensuring pharmacy services are available throughout an emergency situation to provide those affected with adequate care.

The resources below provide information that may assist Victorian pharmacies during an emergency situation.

Incidents and Warnings

Vic Emergency Warnings: Current incidents and warnings can be monitored on the Vic Emergency website or Vic Emergency app. Situations can change quickly so please keep yourself up to date  with the current warnings.

Weather Warnings: Current weather warnings for Victoria are available to view on the Bureau of Meteorology website at Victoria Weather and Warnings

Emergency Assistance - Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES)

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is the control agency for flood; storm; tsunami; earthquake, and landslide events in Victoria. See more on the VICSES website

Support Services

Support from Pharmacists' Support Services (PSS)

  • If you are struggling emotionally or mentally after experiencing a disaster, please reach out.
  • PSS is available 365 days of the year from 8.00am to 11.00pm AEST. Further information available here

Employee Assistance Program

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided in partnership with TELUS Health, offers confidential, short-term counselling and support services to pharmacists, pharmacy assistants and retail staff (including immediate family members) of registered Guild members only.
