15 March 2024

The Pharmacy Guilds of both Australia and New Zealand have launched a new communications channel called Australasian Pharmacy.

The channel which will bring you the latest news in pharmacy from both Australia and New Zealand was officially launched today the 2024 APP Conference on the Gold Coast.

Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s National President, Professor Trent Twomey and the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand’s National President, Des Bailey launched the channel in front of cameras at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“This is a way for both the Pharmacy Guilds of Australia and New Zealand to not just communicate with our members but to communicate with the entire industry, whether it be suppliers, politicians or decision makers,” Professor Twomey said.

“We will not be just talking to the decision makers in community pharmacy, but the news breakers in community pharmacy.”

Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand’s National President Des Bailey said he is looking forward to contributing to Australasian Pharmacy.

“I’m pleased to announce that Australasian Pharmacy will be launched in digital and in print across both sides of the Tasman, it’s going to be great,” he said.

Australasian Pharmacy has already interviewed influential figures in community pharmacy such as Shadow Health Minister, Senator Anne Ruston, Chief Pharmacist at Terry White Chemmart Brenton Hart and Doug Swan from Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API).
