Count down is on for the National Pharmacy of the Year 2023 award winner announcement

24 August 2023

With one week to go, excitement is building amongst the eight Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year (PATY) state and territory winners ahead of next week’s judging day where they will compete for the prestigious title at the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney from 31 August – 2 September.

The national winner of this year’s award will receive a $5,000 cash prize as well as flights, travel and accommodation packages to attend Guild conferences to support their career and professional development.

Conference delegates will have the chance to meet with and learn from the experiences of the state and territory winners during the event’s social functions and at a dedicated session on Friday afternoon, before the winner is announced at the Cocktail Party on Friday evening.

Award judge, 2018 PATY Award national winner and Pharmacy Guild trainer, Alice Vanderpol said she is looking forward to selecting this year’s winner.

“This year’s state and territory winners have demonstrated a strong commitment to their work and to the industry, and that is what this award is all about.

“Every year the bar is raised in terms of the passion and commitment displayed and choosing just one winner is always an extremely difficult task. I can’t wait to see who will be crowned the 2023 Pharmacy Assistant of the Year,” says Ms Vanderpol.

Pharmacy assistants located in and around Sydney wanting to know what it takes to be ‘the best of the best’ are reminded that it is not too late to register for the national conference next week. The opportunity to meet this year’s state and territory winner, and to join in on the excitement as the national winner is announced at the Cocktail Party is not to be missed.

The conference also offers free trade exhibition access to pharmacy assistants wanting to view the latest industry products and services.

PATY is the premier award for pharmacy assistants, recognising and celebrating the best of the best in Australian community pharmacy for their leadership, innovation, and community service. Visit pharmacyassistants.com for more information and to register.
