Funding eligibility:

The Skilling Queenslanders for Work Program SIR20116 - Certificate II in Community Pharmacy is proudly funded by the Queensland government. To be eligible for this fully-subsidised training, you must meet specific criteria, including being aged 16 years or older and an Australian citizen or permanent resident living in Queensland. There are different eligibility requirements for Community Work Skills and Skill-Up components, ensuring opportunities for diverse individuals seeking to upskill and reskill.

Where and when:

The full-time course will run for up to 7 weeks, including 10 days of vocational placement in a local community pharmacy. The August 2023 courses will take place in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, offering both Skill Up and Community Work Skills components.

Julie's life took a positive turn after completing the Community Work Skills course in Brisbane. As a former sales and childcare specialist, she lacked confidence in the beginning, but the course provided her with the knowledge and support she needed to succeed.

“The course has been absolutely great – it gave me lots of confidence," (Julie Strong).

Julie said her favourite aspect of the course was the opportunity to learn about technology, medications, and engage in role plays that simulated real-life scenarios.
