Mr Kos Sclavos AM, Queensland’s Branch Committee member said Keith was unwavering in his determination to get the best outcome for the members of the Guild and the healthcare needs of patients throughout Queensland.
“Keith was a long serving steward of the Queensland Branch and was awarded Honorary Life Membership in 1993. He played an instrumental role in ensuring the views of grass roots member were heard at the highest level of the Guild and PDL,” says Mr Sclavos AM.
This sentiment is echoed throughout the health sector with Deputy Chair and Queensland Director of Pharmaceutical Defence Limited (PDL), Mr Gilbert Yeates expressing his sorrow at the loss of Keith.
“This is sad news. Keith was an active member at Pharmaceutical Defence Limited, serving on the Board for 14 years from 1994 to 2008 and on the Queensland Local Advisory Committee for several further years. His contribution to PDL was formally recognised in 2010 with the awarding of Honorary Life Membership.
“Wherever Keith was involved in the pharmacy profession, he was committed to guiding and supporting his fellow pharmacists. He will be sadly missed,” says Mr Yeates.
“He made a huge contribution to the medical and healthcare sector and he will be sadly missed.
“My thoughts and those of the members of the Pharmacy Guild are with his family,” says Mr Sclavos AM.
Keith passed on Tuesday 23 May after a short COVID-related illness. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Evonne, his only living brother Arthur, his daughter Lisa and son John, his grandsons Mark and Robert and his great grandchildren Elzie and Finn, and Benji and Sulli. He leaves a lasting legacy.
