Volunteer with The Water Well Project - Upcoming new volunteer training in Sydney and Hobart!

17 August 2026

The Water Well Project

Are you an AHPRA-registered healthcare professional or a final-year student in training? Use your skills and knowledge to help communities better understand health, prevention and how to navigate the Australian healthcare system.

The Water Well Project is an award-winning charity that has delivered more than 2,000 free, interactive health education sessions to over 30,000 participants from migrant, refugee and asylum seeker communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

Many community members face real barriers to understanding health information and navigating the Australian healthcare system. These can lead to missed preventative care, delayed help-seeking and poorer health outcomes. Our free, interactive sessions help make health information clearer, more practical and easier to act on.

Why volunteer with us?

  • communicate health information in clear, accessible and culturally responsive ways
  • work effectively with interpreters and diverse community groups
  • better understand the barriers that affect health access and outcomes for migrant, refugee and asylum seeker communities
  • make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of people from migrant, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds.
  • become part of a supportive, like-minded community of healthcare professionals committed to health equity
  • CPD points may apply!
