It’s fast-paced, full of learning curves, but incredibly rewarding. The Australasian College of Pharmacy ITP program has been a huge support, providing structure, confidence, and guidance throughout.
The intern year is packed with firsts: first vaccinations, first complex cases, first moments counselling independently, and the first time you see the real impact you can make. Those milestones are exciting, super fun and a little daunting, but they’re the moments that help you grow into the pharmacist you’re becoming.
Two standout experiences shaped my year. The first was hosting a Mastering Menopause Night which brought together more than 50 women for evidence-based education, connection, and real conversations.
The second was participating in the first ever National Intern Exchange Program to. visit pharmacies across Australia. For future interns: stay curious, say yes to opportunities, find your passion and don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions. The year goes quickly, but the growth is huge. I’m grateful for the foundation this year has built and genuinely so excited for what comes next in my career!
