Chris Owen is a third-generation community pharmacist, experienced business owner, and passionate advocate for the profession. As Queensland Branch President and National Vice President – Finance, Chris leads the Guild’s advocacy at both state and national levels, helping members navigate change, embrace new opportunities, and deliver quality care to their communities. Chris owns a network of pharmacies across South East Queensland and holds postgraduate qualifications in rural pharmacy. He has a special interest in sexual health and HIV prevention and is currently completing Full Scope of Practice training through James Cook University. He also serves on the Board of Guild Group Holdings, where he contributes governance, strategic planning and financial oversight expertise. | Trent TwomeyNational President; Member for Far North QueenslandProfessor Trent Twomey has served as National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia since 2021. A pharmacist and pharmacy owner based in Far North Queensland, Trent has held senior leadership roles within the Guild for over 15 years and brings deep knowledge of the profession’s challenges and opportunities. Trent and his wife, also a pharmacist, own a group of community pharmacies. He has been part of the negotiating teams for the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Community Pharmacy Agreements and serves as Vice President of the World Pharmacy Council. A prescribing pharmacist and Professor at James Cook University, Trent is passionate about innovation, rural healthcare, and the long-term sustainability of community pharmacy. |
| Cate WhalanNational Councillor; Branch Vice President; Member for North QueenslandCate Whalan is a pharmacy owner, Guild leader, and former Army pharmacist, with nearly three decades of experience across clinical practice, governance, and academia. She represents North Queensland as Branch Vice President and National Councillor and owns three pharmacies based in Townsville. Cate began her career at Mater Hospital Pharmacies before joining the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, including operational service in Bougainville. She is a prescribing pharmacist with clinical interests in aged care, chronic disease, and First Nations health. Cate is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and Pharmacy Advisory Committee member at James Cook University. Cate advocates for collaborative care models and is deeply committed to advancing pharmacy in regional and rural communities. |

She has served in advisory roles for PHNs, the University of Queensland, and QUT, and was Chair of the Interim Pharmacy Roundtable.
