Data Collection Statement

1 - What data will be provided by the Accountant?

  1. The financial data will be de-identified so that it is only linked to your pharmacy’s postcode, and not with the name, address or other details of your pharmacy or with you.  That is, the financial data received from the Accountant in an identified format, will be de-identified by the Guild upon receipt, and will be aggregated with the de-identified data of other participating pharmacies (the aggregated data is referred to as project data).  The Guild will only store project data and will not take steps to identify or to re-identify the project data with any participating pharmacy or owner. Consequently, once de-identified, the Guild will not be able to connect the project data with any participating pharmacy or its owner.
  2. The provision of the financial data from the Accountant will occur on one occasion only.  The Guild will not continue to request any financial or other data from the Accountant without your prior written consent.
  1. The only use to which the Guild puts the financial data is to de-identify it and then aggregate that de-identified data with other project data.
  2. The project data will help the Guild analyse, evaluate and undertake research on the community pharmacy network in Australia for the benefit of the Guild’s members.  The Guild’s work will include, without limitation, analysing and evaluating project data to enable the Guild to compile and publish the Guild Digest 2024.
  3. The purposes referred to in paragraphs 2.1 and 2.2 are approved purposes.
  1. It is up to you whether to authorise your accountant to provide the Guild with the financial data and participate in the Guild Digest 2024.  Participation is not compulsory.
  2. Participation in the Guild Digest 2024 is free.  There are no consequences if you choose not to participate.
  1. The Guild will use project data only for the approved purposes.
  1. The Guild will not store or commercialise the financial data (such as by on selling it), or disclose the financial data to any third parties, including sponsors and governmental agencies.
  2. Financial data is de-identified at the point of collection, and aggregated with de-identified financial data of other participating pharmacies.
  3. The project data will be stored on servers hosted by the Guild, or a Guild approved service provider, on servers located in Australia.
  4. The Guild may share project data, and the outcome or product of any analysis, review or evaluation of that project data:
    1. within the Guild and the Guild’s related entities for the approved purposes;
    2. with its agents and service providers for the approved purposes;
    3. with industry participants and stakeholders for the approved purposes (and where necessary will obtain confidentiality undertakings from relevant parties); and
    4. with its lawyers and other external advisers.
  5. The Guild will not otherwise use or disclose your personal information to any third party unless doing so is authorised or required by law.
  1. Financial data is de-identified by the Guild upon receipt and is not stored by the Guild.
  2. The Guild will only store project data and will not take steps to identify or to re-identify the project data with any participating pharmacy. Consequently, once de-identified, the Guild will not be able to connect the project data with any participating pharmacy or its owner.

For more information about how the Guild handles personal information, how you can request to access, correct or update the personal information that the Guild holds about you or your pharmacy, and who to contact if you have a privacy enquiry or complaint, please see the Guild’s privacy policy.
