The Australian Government has committed to providing the COVID-19 vaccine for free to all Australian citizens, permanent residents, refugees, asylum seekers and temporary or bridging visa-holders. The Australian Government has put in place a national rollout strategy to ensure that every Australian, who wants one, has access to a vaccine, and for as many people to be vaccinated as possible. There is more than one COVID-19 vaccine in Australia. Every vaccine approved for use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration must meet strict standards.
