Primary Health Care

Primary Health Networks (PHNs) have been established by the Department of Health with the key objectives of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and improving coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.1

The establishment of PHNs has facilitated potential opportunities for Guild member pharmacies. The Pharmacy Business Support team regularly liaises with the PHNs to allow for collaboration with community pharmacies in their regions. Where opportunities arise, we work with the PHNs to increase the community pharmacy presence in primary health care and actively participate in the promotion of PHN educational and networking events.

Education

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia invites Guild member pharmacists and pharmacy staff to attend a range of education sessions across the state.
