2026 Community Pharmacy Influenza Payment (CPIPP) Program FAQs

How do I participate in the CPIPP?

  • Pharmacies wishing to participate and receive payment for vaccine administration MUST complete a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and must also have a Onelink vaccine ordering account.

Do I need to complete a SLA if I have completed one in previous years?

Yes, all pharmacies will need to complere a SLA to participate in this years CPIPP.

Do all pharmacies have to participate in the CPIPP?

Participation in the CPIPP is optional.

Who is eligible to receive free vaccines under the Program?

Influenza Vaccination

The administration of influenza vaccines to the following patient groups:

  • NIP-funded influenza vaccine for children aged 2 to 4 years (as NIPVIP doesn't cover children under 5 years).
  • Influenza nasal spray vaccine for children aged 2 to 11 years  (FluMist®)
  • Influenza vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years who receive a State-funded vaccine.
  • Influenza vaccine for persons aged 12 to 64 years (immunocompetent) who receive a State-funded vaccine.

RSV Vaccination

The CPIPP supports pharmacist to administer RSV vaccines to the following eligible cohort:

* Vulnerable persons include the following:

  • Living in a residential aged care home.
  • Receiving Commonwealth Support at Home **.
  • Living in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)***.
  • In residential mental health services.
  • Experiencing homelessness.
  • In a correctional facility.

** Excludes persons on Support at Home waitlist and those on Commonwealth Home Support Package (CHSP)

*** Excludes Persons on SDA waitlist or receiving supported independent living (SIL)

RSV Decision Aid is available through the Department of Health, Western Australia.

When will the CPIPP be running?

The vaccines administered under the CPIPP have variable start and end dates as detailed in below table.

Can private vaccine stock be used under the CPIPP?

No, private vaccine stock cannot be administered and claimed under the CPIPP.

Pharmacies are required to order all Government-funded vaccine stock for the program from Onelink.

How do I order vaccine stock to be used for the CPIPP?

All vaccine stock to be used for the CPIPP must be ordered through the Onelink vaccine ordering account.

Any queries relating to Onelink accounts or ordering of vaccines should be directed to vaccineorders@health.wa.gov.au.

How do I create a Onelink account?

Which brands of vaccines are covered under these programs?

The brands which are clearly outlined in Onelink under each patient category must be used.

Can I transfer vaccine stock between pharmacies?

No, stock transfers of Government-funded vaccines (ordered via Onelink) are NOT permitted.

Are patients aged 65 years and over eligible to receive free Influenza Vaccine under the CPIPP?

No, people aged 65 years and over are not eligible to receive funding under the CPIPP.

Some patients may be eligible to receive a vaccine under NIPVIP.

Are patients aged 75 years and over, or 60 years and over who are ATSI to receive a RSV vaccine under the CPIPP? 

No, people aged 75 years and over, or 60 years and over who are ATSI are not eligible to receive funding under the CPIPP. Patients may be eligible to receive a vaccine under NIPVIP.

Do patients have to be a WA resident to be eligible to receive vaccines under the CPIPP

No, all eliglible patient groups in Western Australia throughout the duration of CPIPP can receive a vaccine under the program.

Are non-Medicare card holders eligible to receive free vaccinations under the CPIPP?

Yes, non-Medicare Card holders can receive free vaccinations under the CPIPP as long as the vaccine administration record is uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

Note: Patients are required to hold or be eligible for a Medicare Card to receive a vaccine under the NIP.

Can the vaccine be administered outside of the pharmacy premise under the CPIPP?

Vaccines may be administered in the pharmacy or at another compliant location within Western Australia, in line with the WA Department of Health SASA – Administration of Vaccines by Pharmacists - Appendix 2

Can pharmacies charge the patient for the vaccination service?

Pharmacies are NOT permitted to charge the patient any fees under the CPIPP. If you claim or receive a payment for the vaccination service through other means (e.g., private health fund vouchers, corporate vaccination, etc.) you can NOT also claim remuneration under the CPIPP.

How will pharmacies be paid under the CPIPP?

A payment of $20.05 + GST will be made for administration of each vaccine administered under the CPIPP.

Pharmacies will be paid by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (Western Australian Branch) on behalf of the Western Australian Department of Health. Payments will be made into the bank account nominated by the pharmacy and on receipt of the vaccine data report submitted via the email link. The link will be sent to pharmacies on the last day of each reporting period.

Do I have to report if I have not administered any vaccines in a reporting period?

Yes, if you have not administered any vaccines, please report a zero quantity during that reporting period.

I have accidentally reported incorrectly, can this be adjusted?

If you notice discrepancies please immediately email the correct information to freeflu@wa.guild.org.au and we will make the adjustment on your form.

How do I generate an AIR uploads report

You can generate AIR reports from your professional services recording software (e.g., MedAdvisor, Go-Bookings) or directly from the AIR portal.

Will the program be audited?

The WA Government retains the right to audit participating pharmacies and order them to repay or take other action if they determine it is appropriate.
