Needle and Syringe Program: Why should pharmacy be involved?

Deb is the Harm Reduction Officer for the Lismore Needle Syringe Program.  Deb has worked in Harm Reduction since the NSP’s inception in the mid 1980’s at the Kirketon Road Centre in Kings Cross.  Debs responsibilities are engaging with injectors who access the NSP, and developing and maintaining networks a of secondary NSP outlets including Community Health Centres, Vending machines and Pharmacies throughout the Richmond area.  Debs responsibilities also include education and advocacy of the NSP to community services and agencies, and departments within Health.
